DESCRIPTION

Portal is a single player game from Valve released in 2007. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games available and will offer gamers hours of unique game play. Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuver objects, and themselves, through space.

This is the non-steam (extracted) edition of Portal. It is a clean rip that doesn’t require the Steam Client in order to start the game, and includes a nice, easy to use installer.

INSTALLATION

If you get a white screen, here’s what to do:

1. Create a shortcut on your desktop to the hl2.exe file in portal directory
2. Then right-click it and select “properties” and change the target to exactly this:

“C:\Program Files\Portal\hl2.exe” -game portal -window -dxlevel 81 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0

3. (If you did not accept the default install directory, you know what to do) then apply and OK.

When you start the game with this shortcut, it will run in window mode, but should work fine.

You can then go to options and make it full screen again. After this you can even use the old, original shortcut to run the game.

DESCRIPTION

Portal: Prelude, as its name states it, is an unofficial prequel to the game Portal. Its story revolves around the pre-GlaDOS epoch, even before she was plugged in. At this time, test subjects were monitored by real Aperture Science employees whose work was tedious, lengthy and repetitive. This is why they decided to build a great artificial intelligence that could both replace them in these difficult tasks, but also take responsibility for many other tasks within the complex and compete with Black Mesa’s superiority. SCREENSHOTS

INSTALLATION

1. Run Portal to install the normal portal.

2. At the same time (or after the first one is done installing)
run portal-prelude-setup-1.0.0.

3. Once portal-prelude-setup-1.0.0 is done installing go to
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\portal prelude.

4. Drag and drop the portal prelude folder into the portal sub folder where you installed the regular portal.
(normally C:\Program Files\Portal\portal)

5. On the desktop there should be a shortcut saying Portal prelude. Right click it and select properties. In the area where it says Target: blah blah blah you are going to put in

C:\Program Files\Portal\hl2.exe” -game “C:\Program Files\Portal\portal\portal prelude

with quotations. If you installed it to a different directory then change the paths to suit. Then just double click that shortcut to play.

EXTRAS: Bonus Flash Version Map Pack

DESCRIPTION

Based on Portal: The Flash Version, Hen Mazolski brings us all the levels and concepts back to the original Portal version, in this huge map-pack! This time, experience Aperture Science from a different perspective, before the time of the original Portal, as a different test subject. This map-pack includes ALL 40 levels from WCS’s Flash version, additional bonus levels and features. All together, we’ve got here over three and a half hours of amazing game-play. Installation instructions within the README.TXT file.

INSTALLATION

1. Go to the Portal flash map pack folder and keep it open

2. Go to C:\Program Files\Portal\portal and drag and drop all items in the Portal flash map pack folder into there (NOT THE FOLDER ITSELF).

3. Now simply run the regular portal go to BONUS MAPS and load the map pack.
